Eko Solar" as a member of the "Solar Macedonia" participated in the first workshop supported by USAID

SKOPJE - Today, 15 November, Association for solar energy, "Solar Macedonia" held the first workshop for the presentation of new services to its members in order to increase economic activity in the sector. Besides the presentation of training for solar installer Solar that Macedonia offers to its members, the event was a panel discussion which actualize the problems that the solar sector in Macedonia faces. The discussion included representatives from the Ministry of Economy, who had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of the private sector directly from representatives of the companies attending members of Solar Macedonia.

As noted by the President of the organization, prof. Dr. Ilija Nasov „Solar power in Macedonia is very little used, which is particularly worrying bearing in mind how many sunny days are in our region. This is due to several problems in the sector, problems whose solution Solar Macedonia will work through the grant awarded by USAID to develop the business ecosystem”

As the main solution Solar Macedonia offers its member companies are training for labor will increase the professionalism of the solar installer and increase consumer confidence. further, Solar Macedonia will take part in lobbying aimed at resolving the systemic problems of the sector as: wrong designed schemes for subsidizing thermal systems and customs duties for components that burden the domestic fabricators.

Training and lobbying Solar Macedonia organizes such activities of the project "Improving skills, production and employment in Macedonian Micro, SMEs (MSMEs) working with solar energy equipment ", supported by a grant from USAID to develop the business ecosystem.

launched in 2018 year, USAID works with business associations, Commerce, financial institutions, training centers and companies in the development of their supplier chains, and other organizations that provide support services to MSMEs. The project also works with financial institutions to increase financing available for MSMEs. Their collaboration with Solar Macedonia is based on the support of business organizations (associations, associations, Commerce and business centers) as important factors in raising the productivity and incomes of the private sector in Macedonia.
