📰 New Occupational Standards in Solar Technology Prepared

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Zoran Trajkov from EKOSOLAR, in close collaboration with a team of prominent experts from the field of education, successfully prepared two new occupational standards specialized in solar technology.

These innovative standards aim to advance the quality of vocational education in this sector. The standards have already been officially submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science for final review and approval.

The vocational training institution EKO SOLAR and the Solar Macedonia association will begin training 29 candidates from all over Macedonia through the project “Bridging the skills gap for creating new and better jobs” supported by UNDP, the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development and the British Embassy. The practical part of the training will be in Tetovo, Skopje and in EKO SOLAR - Shtip. The organizer is Skills4Future from Tetovo.

Despite so many faculties, graduate engineers, organizations and associations for energy, Macedonia does not have professional staff for installing solar installations. The country received its first specialists for this issue in February 2010. The training was organized by the Koblenz-German Chamber of Crafts. "There are many professors and engineers, but when someone needs to climb onto the roof of a building and install such elements, then there is no one. There are people who have done it before, but they are self-taught," said project coordinator Boris Parvanov from Bulgaria.
